RPL Stories

The RPL process offered a transformative opportunity for me to leverage my practical experience as a valid substitute for the conventional academic qualifications I lacked.

RPL allowed me to pursue higher education while acknowledging my existing skills, bridging the gap, and enabling me to progress.

In 2022 I found EQUAL Ireland and the opportunity to engage with RPL to credit my knowledge, to step into an academic stage - where I have thrived.

The process itself was straightforward. The support and guidance has been fantastic.

RPL has allowed me to build on my existing qualifications by recognising what I had learned in the various jobs I had since I first left higher education.

I feel RPL has opened up a number of opportunities and introduced me to different types of writing techniques. It has also given me a renewed passion and interest in writing.

During my career, I have worked across multiple industries which have allowed me to see how change can be driven, designed, and facilitated. RPL has a major role to play in this process.

A key challenge in the RPL process was giving myself credit and accepting how far I had come, which has made me very proud. RPL has been an integral part in helping me to progress to Masters level.

My incredible journey to perform in 13 countries around the world, in front of over 2.5 million people that translated from a BA to a MA to a Doctorate was only made possible by institutions acknowledging RPL.
