Mike Hanrahan

"Probably one of the best decisions I've made in my life."

Mike Hanrahan, RPL Learner, Postgraduate Certificate for Equity in Brain Health at the Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI), Trinity College Dublin

Successful author, musician, songwriter and producer and Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health with Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI) Mike Hanrahan of renowned traditional Irish band Stocktons Wing became interested in brain health after his mother’s diagnosis of dementia and his growing awareness of the role of the creative arts in dementia care.

When Mike applied to the Postgraduate Certificate for Equity in Brain Health at the Global Brain Health Institute at Trinity College Dublin, he had no formal third level qualifications, but he did have a long career in the creative arts and in leadership roles. His experience supported his application to the course which he now describes as ‘the best year of his life’.

The RPL process helped Mike to gain access to a programme which has had life-changing positive impact on him both personally and professionally.
