Rebecca Roper, Project Lead, Institute of Art, Design & Technology

Rebecca Roper is the Project Lead for the National RPL Project at IADT.

Rebecca is the current Head of Teaching and Learning at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT), Dún Laoghaire, Dublin. She has lectured across Film, the Arts, Business and Humanities for over 20 years and is passionate about student success and the creation of empowering student experiences in Higher Education. She instigated and led the nationally lauded ‘First Year Matters’ (FYM/FYF) programme in IADT (2013 - ongoing) and more recently the accompanying ‘Final Year Matters, Moving On’ programme (FYMMO – 2019 - ongoing). Her professional practice as a Casting Director in Film and Television both nationally and internationally informs her teaching practice. She has worked in casting with some of the world’s leading film directors, including Luc Besson, Christopher Nolan, and Oliver Stone. Rebecca is delighted to work on the National Recognition of Prior Learning Project in Higher Education. She is a member of AISHE, ECSB, Women in Film, Student Led Learning and is an associate of the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Ireland.
